Miners ace blanked Crushers and Otters in back-to-back starts
Sussex County Miners starting pitcher Rob Hensey has been named the Frontier League’s Week 10 Pitcher of the Week.
The Miners’ ace shut out the Lake Erie Crushers and Evansville Otters in back-to-back starts during Week 10. In the two games, the left-hander allowed no earned runs on six hits and two walks. He struck out 13 batters over his 14 innings of work, including a complete-game shutout against the Crushers in the Tuesday contest. Rob has won his last six starts and is now 7-4 on the season with a 2.86 ERA.
Hensey’s stellar performance has propelled him back to the top of the league’s strikeout leaderboard with 88 strikeouts.
Last week, Hensey was selected to his second consecutive Frontier League All-Star team and will represent the Miners at the “Y’All-Star Game” in Florence, KY, on July 15. Watch the All-Star Week festivities live on the Frontier League Network via HomeTeam Network.
Hensey, 26, from Goshen, NY, joined the Sussex County Miners for the 2025 season and remains an all-time pitcher for the Miners. This season, Sussex County is 8-4 in games when Hensey starts.
