GAME 1: SUSSEX COUNTY 6, QUEBEC 5 (F/9)
Sussex County Miners 3B Dustin Lawley singled home 1B Chris Jacobs with the game winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Miners beat the Québec Capitales, 6-5, in game one of a doubleheader. Lawley had two hits in the game and a run scored while PH/LF Derrick Pyles added a pair of hits, a run scored and two RBI. Sussex County CF Jay Austin also chipped in with a walk and two doubles. Miners pitcher Kaohi Downing tossed a scoreless inning of work to notch his first victory with the team. For Québec in the losing effort, LF Kalian Sams went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
GAME 2: QUEBEC 10, SUSSEX COUNTY 9 (F/7)
The Québec Capitales scored five big runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to overcome a 9-5 deficit and beat the Sussex County Miners, 10-9 in game two of a doubleheader. Québec had 14 hits in the game with eight of the nine batters collecting at least one. Capitales 2B Maxx Tissenbaum and DH Yeicok Calderon each went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a RBI while LF Kalian Sams adding three hits and two RBI. Tissenbaum and Sams also hit two of the four home runs in the contest for Quebec. Capitales pitcher Sheldon McDonald threw 2 2/3 innings to nab the victory. McDonald gave up two hits and had three punchouts.
