MINERS WIN FIFTH STRAIGHT

SUSSEX COUNTY TOPS TROIS-RIVIERES TO EXTEND STREAK

July 31, Trois-Rivières, Québec – The Sussex County Miners (33-33) used a combination of strong pitching and timely hitting to defeat the Trois-Rivières Aigles (24-42), 5-2. With the win, the Miners have extended their streak to five games and returned to .500 on the season.

Adron Chambers (pictured) dazzled offensively, going 2 for 4 with a solo home run, double, three runs scored, and an RBI. J.J. Fernandez crushed a home run to right field and collected two hits. Kody Kerski earned his fifth win of the season and lowered his ERA to 1.61 by allowing only one run on seven hits. Mark McCoy struck out two and picked up his eighth save.
