ROCKLAND SCORES EARLY AND OFTEN TO TAKE HISTORIC GAME
Cooperstown, NY | July 26, 2016 — The Rockland Boulders (38-24) jumped out to a fast start as they plated five runs over the first four innings and cruised to a 9-3 victory over the Sussex County Miners (23-40) at Doubleday Field in Cooperstown, New York. Boulders LF Devin Harris led the way offensively going 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI. Rockland 3B Mike Fransoso added two hits and two runs scored while SS Junior Arrojo collected two RBI and three walks in a 1-for-2 day. Boulders starting pitcher Mike Adams tossed a complete game and earned his fourth win of the season. Adams allowed three earned runs on four hits and struck out five batters.
Sussex County flashed some power in the losing effort. 2B Nick Giarraputo, DH Alex DeBellis, and LF Dominique Taylor each hit solo home runs. With the round tripper, Giarraputo extended his hitting streak to 13 games.
The Miners will be on the road again on Wednesday to face the Boulders at Palisades Credit Union Park. First pitch is scheduled at 11:00 AM. Listen to all the action live on the Miners Radio Network.
