WINNING STREAK SNAPPED AT SIX GAMES
June 22, Trois-Rivières, QC – A grand slam by Connor Crane in the third inning proved to be the decisive shot as the Trois-Rivières Aigles (11-21) defeated the Sussex County Miners (16-15) by inal score of 7-3 on Thursday night at Stade Stereo+. The loss snapped the Miners win streak at six games.
The Miners offense was stymied by Edilson Alvarez (3-3), who went the distance in earning the win for Trois-Rivières. Alvarez allowed onl one earned run, and three total, in his nine innings of work. He walked jut one MIners, while striking out eight. Rubi Silva and Jay Baum each had two hits, but the rest of the Miner bats were held to just two other hits.
Crane’s grand slam came off of Miners starter Ari Kaufman (0-3), who took the loss for Sussex County. Every Aigle batter had at least one hit, and the Aigles had twelve hits altogether.
