CHAMBERS 3 HITS IN MINERS DEBUT
June 5, Augusta, NJ – With the threat of rain overhead all evening, the Sussex County Miners (7-11) got a three-hit performance from new acquisition Adron Chambers, but still fell to the New Jersey Jackals (9-8) by a final score of 6-3 on Monday night at Skylands Stadium. The loss was the fourth loss in the last five games for Sussex County.
Chambers had three hits, a walk, and a run scored in five plate appearances for the Miners. Nick Giarraputo had two hits and a run batted in with his ninth inning double. Kris Regas (2-2) got the start one day after earning the save at Ottawa and threw six innings, allowing three earned runs and striking out six Jackals.
Taylor Brennan went 3 for 4 for New Jersey, with his third home run as well as a triple and three runs batted in. Rylan Sandoval had a four-hit game, and David Richardson (1-2) went seven strong innings in getting the win for the Jackals. Johnny Bladel had two hits in four at bats, but was ejected in the seventh inning for arguing a call. The former Miner is now 24 for 65 against his former team between last season and this season, a .369 clip.
