SUSSEX COUNTY ADDS CATCHER AND PITCHER
Troy Dixon (6′ 2″, 205 lbs) is a left-handed hitting catcher from Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. Drafted by the Seattle Mariners out of St. John’s University in the 20th round of the 2017 First-Year Player Draft, Dixon played two seasons with the Everett AquaSox (Northwest League, Short Season Single-A). Last season he established himself as one of the toughest receivers to run against by throwing out 20 of 41 attempting base stealers (48.8%). In 2017 he tossed out 8 out of 18 attempting base stealers (44.4%). While with the Red Storm in his senior year, Dixon was a unanimous 2017 First All-Big East selection. He captured the Big East Conference batting title while hitting .394 (63-160) which also ranked 8th in the nation.
Right-handed pitcher Nate Antone (6′ 4″, 215 lbs) is a Pennsylvania native who joins the Miners after two seasons with the Joliet Slammers of the Frontier League. Last season, Nate recorded 81 strikeouts in 66.3 innings pitched. He also posted an impressive 1.25 ERA while holding opponents to a .145 batting average.
